It turns out that seal can leak in the least expected time. I had my injector pump rebuilt for my Farmall 350 Diesel and when they final assembled the pump shaft they nicked the seal and my brand new engine was filled with several gallons of diesel fuel. Fortunately, I didn't start it before I noticed it, so I had to change the oil and take the injector pump off again. Roger
