I'm to the point of getting a new disc. I'm looking at two different 20x20 versions of the same brand. One has spacing between the discs of 7-1/2 inches and is 6-1/2 feet wide. The other has 9 inch spacing between the discs and is 7-1/2 feet wide. This will be pulled by a Super M with 4.125 bore (281 cubic inches) and stepped pistons - probably 48-50 hp. I am in North Alabama where the soil has a fair amount of clay in it.
The salesman says the 9" spacing will do the better job. Not doubting him but, of the two, which do you fellows recommend?
