Make sure the linkages across the engine front, and to the carb are tight (no slop) but free to move. Adjusting the carb for best idle and best high speed operation can make a world of difference. (if there is no high speed adjustment, be sure the carb is clean, and float level is correct. As to adjustment, by the book is the most likely to be on target. Also just because the dealer supplied the spring does not make it correct. I would double check the free length, number of coils, and wire diameter to be sure it is not too stiff. JimN
