Thanks for the replies, I'am still having a difficult time with this. On the monday i went to a tractor scrap yard to check on other pto units to compare input shafts & found only one other one & it measured the same. I'am thinking the only way it is going to work is modifiying the shaft & the engaging drive sleve. I took a look at the modle C unit & it is quite a bit longer then mine, about 6 inches. I thought that mybe the drive shaft within my tractor might slide forward enough to give me my clearance but no such luck it only moved about a 1/16 ". Any further comments would be great, I don't really want to start modifying things.
