tractor
International 434
stuck in gear
plowing and it will not come out of gear
it wasn't me at the time so I don't know if the driver dropped the clutch on the tractor or what gear it is in (rear or 2nd). He said it just broke.
It is at the edge of a steep hill so it can only be towed backwards which it will not do. We attempted to do that. Pressing in the clutch doesn't do a thing.
The battery is dead and we bum start it normally (tow it) but oviously cannot at the moment.
Luckly the plow is raised...but might come down eventually.
Now I have cruised the net looking for info and from what i have read the tranny is pretty rock solid in this tractor so it is most likely the clutch (fingers crossed).
play in stick but will not go into any gears
clutch goes to the floor (with resistance) but doesn't make a difference.
any help would be most welcome
another idea would be to get the tractor turned 90 so we could attempt to tow or pull it forward.

This article will focus on what I encountered and what I did to bring the 1951 NEAR DEATH Farmall H back to life.
