Like Mark W said there are no snap rings or anything holding the shafts or couplers together it all just slides in and is held in by the four bolts on the outside. It does not always pull right out as it is a rather tight fit. It helsp to spin it back and forth slightly and you also have to keep it near perfectly level or it will not pull out easy at all, also like Mark said be ready it is heavy, Id say around 70 pounds at least. Also just remember which way the shaft couplers go should one or both happen to come out or if you remove them.
