Color of the International A would have been to order. I assume that anything other than red required a special order and additional $$. A lot of them were red originally. The most common other colors seem to have been yellow or orange. If they remained in the hands of a local highway department long enough, they typically got repainted yellow. Whatever color was used, the whole tractor, including wheel disks, weights, starters etc. were the same color.
They don't seem to command a price premium. Seems that most everyone just wants a red tractor. So they shoot red on them and install "FARMALL" decals.
The differences between a Farmall and International:
- Heavy duty square front axle with brace to bell housing.
- Foot operated accelerator.
- Model ID differences:
-- Serial plate
-- Front emblem "INTERNATIONAL" in place of "FARMALL"
-- Hood side decals "INTERNATIONAL" in place of "FARMALL".
Tire size choices were the same. An International could have had diamond treads on the rear.
On the Super A, the differences were the same except the front emblem which was "IH" for both versions and internal Touch Control valving to slow it down.
