If you are talking about the "O" ring inside the lower part of the bowl, then, yes, it IS special and has a steel spring inside, which is what causes the gush all at once, as it slows down, as the spring overcomes centrifugal force and pulls the "O" ring inward, away from the holes in the lower part of the bowl shell.
You can feel that the "O" ring is "stiff" 'cause of the spring inside. Without that special "O" ring, the power washing function will no longer work.
I know a few years back already those were hard to come by. I don't know if anyone is selling them now.
