Water in the rearend/trans is normal and common. The fluid probably hasnt ever been changed. There will be all sorts of gunk in there, so you will want to flush it out. I used about three or four gallons of diesel fuel and just drove around the yard. DO NOT PUT A LOAD ON THE TRACTOR. When you drain that out you need six gallons of gear oil. Or do what I did, 5 gallons of synthetic gear oil and a gallon of lucas.
