Mac: To start with the tractor transmission-rear end and hydraulic are two separate compartments. Use hytran in the hydraulics and gear oil in transmission-rear end. Forget about what Kirsch's manual says, mine says the same yet we all use gear oil in those little transmissions. If we didn't, we'd grind a lb. of gear steel everyday.
Your tractors transmission is probably overfull, 65% of transmission-rear end seal leaks are caused by too much oil in there. Usually it is a mixture of gear oil and water, because these tractors leak more water down the gear shift lever than down the stack if both are left uncovered in the rain. Put a bucket over the gear shift lever. If it's just overnight don't worry about the stack.
