I looked at my M service manual. It says that after the snap ring at the rear is removed to then remove the rear bearing my driving it off the shaft with a drift punch on the inner race. Then remove the shaft to the rear by driving it out of the front bearing. Of course the coupling on the front of the shaft that drives the lift all hydraulic unit must be removed first. The PTO unit has to come out first so the shaft can go to the rear.
