If it starts well, it has OK compression on at least a few cylinders. While running is it an even regular misfire, or a irregular misfire. If regular, or the exhaust puffs smoke, crack the nuts on the fuel lines one at a time to bleed off the fuel pressure to one cylinder at a time. This can isolate a dead cylinder. This engine is tough on the wallet to rebuild due to uncommon expensive parts. It is economical, and strong when correct. Bad injector patterns and pump can cause all these symptoms and are much cheaper than the rebuild it would need if low on compression. Good luck, I like 350UDs JimN
