They run pretty slow. 1750RPM (stamped into the ID plate under the serial number) wide open no load. This is called High Idle. If in doubt, rent a strobe tach, or a shaft tach. The strobe is shined on the front pulley and a knob is adjusted until the pulley appears to stop. The RPM is then read on a scale. A shaft tach is used on the PTO and 540RPM is the desired RPM at High Idle. I like Saginaw Brand 3 point hitches. X1 means it was designed to run on gasoline only. Using Unleaded regular is just fine. do not put in additives. No issues have been noted on these tractors, even with 10% ethanol. JimN
