May or maynot be. There are actually two or more different armatures used between Letter series tractors but over the years one never knows what one is being used in a particular starter. Many years ago, I went through a starter for a customer but it didn't do the job, he put on a known good one and it worked fine. Took them both apart and found different numbered armature. Put that number armature in and it worked fine. Could the one have been defective, of course that is possible but it checked out fine on the growler and physically looked good. This was on an M . Another thing, the C usually used only two field coils and no center bearing and that will not do a good job on an H. .
