I've got a 28 hp Perkins diesel on a 15kw generator skid that hasn't run since I bought it about 30 years ago at a sale. It ran before I got it and I ran it a little. It has sat outside in the rain and snow with a gallon paint can over the exhaust stack all this time. Still would have the same oil and antifreeze in it. I just never wanted to invest in one of those huge batteries it uses and I never got around to getting an outdoor panel to put on it and never got around to adding a fuel tank on the skid.
Where would I go about adding some atf in the cylinders to sit for a couple weeks before I try anything? Pour some in the fuel line? I really don't want to pull the head without being committed to following through with it.
I don't need another project but I guess if I don't do anything, it might go another 30 years.
