How well does it run? If there is a crack in the cap, it theoretically could run on 1 cylinder. I know it is possible on a gas 706, because the neighbor changed the spark plugs & wires on his 706 & got the coil wire in #2 hole on the dist. cap & the #2 wire in the center hole.
