Following up my previous post… Advantages of the Farmall: 1 - Better drive train - Service is continuous stop ' n go all day long - and we rarely go a full day without at least one of the Deere's having clutch problems requiring attention. However in 10 years we've yet to have a problem with an IH clutch. 2 - Farmall ignition is unaffected by rain/wet snow. Must carefully cover the Deere mags/distributors in heavy plastic during wet weather to keep 'em firing. 3 - Red paint looks sharp contrasted with the sea of dark green trees… Bottom line: There's no clear quality advantage. Both are good machines, each with some strong points and some quirks. Glad we've got 'em both! See post below for JD advantages...
