Fred: Personally I've given up on Carter carbs for Super A tractors. IH used about 5 different Carter carbs during Super A production and now the industry are trying to service them with two different kits. I've had both kits home and neither one uses the same gasket between the two halves as in my carb. It's been 20 years since my Super A didn't leak when shut off. Now, I blame that leak on the damn plastic tip on needle valve.
Zenith on the other hand do have kits for all their carbs. What's more I bought the kit for my 130 at CaseIH, and lo and behold a steel tipped needle valve. What a pleasure not having to shut gas off when I stop the tractor.
I think there is another problem with carb kits, in the past partsmen with a cavalier attitude have sold kits that were close, now folks are trying to match up based on wrong kit. I'm sure that is what's wrong in my own case, and it was me they sold the wrong kit to 20 years ago.
