A 1952 Super M is basically nothing more than a souped up M (more bore) - except for gear ratios. All else is pretty much the same. Oh sure - the SM had a larger clutch, etc. but they were basically a souped up M.
It was not until the Stage II Super M in 1953 that more differences started showing up - including, mainly, live hydraulics.
As a result, the stage II SM's bring a little more brass than the 1952 Stage I versions.
Hood, grill, drawbar were the same. In 1953 - or very late 1952 - the lights changed to "flatback" sealedbeam variations. Very easy to distinguish between the two...
Aftermarket 3-point hitch would be the same. That difference depended upon whether either tractor had a two-way valve and whether or not the 3-point had two lines coming off of it.
