Is the piston at the top or bottom of stroke? The piston cannot be removed through the bottom of the cylinder. If there is a ridge at the top, it has to be removed before driving it up through the top.
In addition to the heat trick, mix A/T fluid with acetone and let it sit. It will do a better job than PBblaster.
