Another method is to engage the PTO then grab the PTO shaft with a big (18" or 24") pipe wrench. Place the wrench handle tight against the drawbar frame to keep the PTO shaft from turning.
Now take a 2nd large pipe wrench and stick it on the coupling nut, then give the wrench your best tug - or give it a good lick with a large hammer.
Once the nut breaks free it will usually spin right off.
