The bull gear can be lifted from the bottom inside teeth with a flat bar, and shimmed up with bolts Maybe 4" long 1/2" bolts to use as wedges under the gear teeth and against the case. These shims allow adjustment so that the gear is aligned with the splines on the axle, and not canted. Make sure you look at the parts diagram, and deal with the placement of the gear in and out on the axle, as in the repair manual. The differential pinion and ring gear are critical to low noise, and strength. I do not remember the backlash setting, so look it up. The pinion depth and backlash combine to make a good tooth pattern on the ring gear teeth. The whole tooth should have a uniform pressure wipe across its length when it is correct. JimN
