I helped my local antique machinery club today with its annual antique tractor pull. A very kind neighbor loaned the club a newish big 4WD or front assist JD 8310 (I may not have the number right) and driver to use as a sled pull back tractor. We were using two sleds on two side-by-side tracks, and it was threatening rain, so things were a little hectic on the track.
At one point, the JD driver forgot to unhitch the sled after pulling it back to the starting position, and a souped-up Super M hitched to the front, got the green flag, and pulled the sled AND the big Deere 4WD about 140 ft. before he spun out. The Deere drive told me that he was in neutral, but that was still an added hunk of iron to pull. The track announcer said "Now that's REAL red power!" I wish I'd gotten a video of it.
