my apologies. I didn"t mean to go off earlier. I"m a bit skittish in the morning when the coffee is kickin" me before lunch. I was doing some thinking, today. What is the shaft speed on a 6v delco (original on 400) genny & a 12v Delco genny (IH dealer converted W6)? I think I might have a few more 6v on top of the garage. I"d like to set up a motor, tomorrow & do some bench testing. See if I have at least one good one to work with. Maybe I"ll just switch things back to 6v. I won"t be using this tractor in the winter, anyhow. I don"t think I"ll have the $ for a new alt. I need to locate some rims & tires, front & rear, before any more major expenditures. Thanks - Mike
