I had the rear end cover off my 3414 IH backhoe, and noticed a few teeth on the ring and pinion had very small (less than 1/16th) chips out of the very outside of the ring gear, and matching out of the end of the pinion closest to the motor. My right brake housing, which also sets the ring gear lash was loose. Should I just reset the lash, or change the ring and pinion. Where can I get a ring and pinion for my old trusty hoe? Also, where can I get the shims? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
