Here is a photo of my crank pulley with apparent deep groove.
My question is: is this a steel casting which could presumably be tig-welded up and then remachined & polished back or an iron casting without the ability to do the same type of repair?
It occurred to me that the crank pulley could presumably be driven deeper or shallower onto the crank nose with some custom spacers...in an effort to find "fresh land" on the seal's running surface. However at best that would put the accessory v-belt drive out of plane.
