While redoing the gaskets on my H engine; I have the front cover off and pulled the camshaft gear then the front "plate" behind that is this round "plug" (circular) directly above the crankshaft about 6-8 inches. This plug is about an inch in diameter and has a hole in the middle of it, my question: is this soft plug supposed to have a hole in it like this, or is it rotted through? to me it acts that it is rotted through, if this is the case; do they just pop out, and order a new one and put it in? thanks for the help as always.
