The difficulty on the bearing probably depends on how much press-fit was used...and...you'll probably have to concoct a puller and a pusher to install it without damaging the new one.
Thanks for the reply. I am pretty sure the bearing is shot because the shaft shown in the picture has considerable play. I assume there is also a bearing/seal associated with the part that spins underneath the shaft (not sure what it is called, maybe counter rotating shaft?) I have a puller that I think will get the existing bearings out but getting them back in could be a problem (as you suggest). PS, I have a service manual on order maybe that will help me understand what I am up against and give me the part numbers for the bearings/seals and gaskets needed to perform this work.
