Thought I would get some advise on how to use the TA. This is my first TA tractor and would like not to do something stupid and tear the TA up. FEEL FREE TO ADD TO THE LIST. If it matters my tractor is a late 67 gas with the 291.
For example tractor pulling or pulling a heavy load. 1) Do you leave the starting line in low then shift to high? Or start in high? Does it matter. 2) Its ok to pull the TA back if you start to have power loss issues from a load. Yes?
Lets say we are pulling a large grader blade. 1) If you are pulling a load and the need to pull back on the TA happens so you pull back on it. Later you dont have the large load and the tractors TA could be shifted back in to high. Can this be done?
Other 1) Rolling down hill do not pull the TA back because it will free wheel. 2) If you are backing up to hook a imlplement is it ok to shift the TA in to low range while ideling. 3) Is it ok to shift the TA back in to high range with no load while ideling. 4) Do RPMs matter when shifting a TA 5) Do you have to have a load on the tractor when shifting a TA.
