The H and M originally used 2 studs that are 1/8" longer, where the throttle rocker assembly mounts onto the top of the head, thus the remaining studs in teh head where shorter. I see they quit offering the short studs and only the long studs, which is fine it just leaves more stud ontop of the head.
ARP is the best place to get studs and nuts, and if you really want the best purchase their flat washers to place under each nut, this way you get really even torque. I have purchased several sets for an M and they are top notch and cost less than buying from the dealer.
