a while back somebody was interested in the last of the farmall m tractors. my 52 m serial number is in teh 296000 series, and from the ansewrs i got yesterday, the last one was 298218, so it was about one of the last 2000 off the assembly line. here are some pics, its a working girl, no trailer queen, and as far as i know, still has the original paint and decals, also rather well worn!! factory disc brakes engine driven hour meter, seal is still on it m+w 9 speed char-lynn 2 way hydraulic power kit saginaw 3 pt ooohhhh i-h tool box (probably off a baler) 12v conversion, genny is an early 1960's chevy also has char-lynn power steering and the 260v dc welder off the belt pulley

Today's Featured Article - Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
