Tom I have a 41 operators manual that came with the H used on the family dairy farm for around 30 to 35 years. It doesn't show any attachments, doesn't even show a starter. It was equiped with starting and lighting, hydraulics and belt pulley. Was also a straight gas tractor which wasn't that common then. Don't know if it came from IH with above parts installed or the dealer installed them. It was serial # 60 + thousand. Choke rod was mounted to gas tank support along with bracket for belt pulley engaging rod. There was no steel plate on steering post and the magneto kill switch was mounted in the inside hole of hydraulic rod support bracket. Starter switch was in the rear tank support and operated by a rod through steering post. I thought they moved the choke rod by 42, but maybe not. Lots of the tractors have the on off switch mounted in the hydraulic support. As I said in my first post there's a lot of gray areas on mounting of starting or lighting parts on early tractors. If dealers installed a lot of early ones that may account for some difference in mounting placements. May want to use what you like the best.
