early 10-20 had the had the model daeignation stenciled on rear fenders, with the double globe above them. no other id on them...later models had the decal on rear fenders.. paint comitee decision on dec 3 1924, states that 17x 2 mccormick- deering decal applied to the hood side curtain above the louvres, below the hinge. when the hood louvres were made taller, they were moved to the hood above the hinge. "drain oil, oil vavle levers", on right side of valve cover. "disengage clutch" decal on rear of fuel tank. "oil lever" decal on aircleaner. "read instruction for aircleaner" on aircleaner. [i have these}.."allways close needle valve" on left side of fuel tank, or on rear of fuel tank.[bob currie].red "oil decal" on tractors after 1930,[bob].."open petcock drain", by drain for block,,{i have these}...letters cast into radiator [mc-deering] painted white. think thats everything.... pg

Today's Featured Article - Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
