I don't know of any set dimension given in any service manual. What you do want is considerable compression of the plate when you bolt it down like maybe 1/4 inch minimum or so . Fingers should lay flat when pressure plate is tightened. If fingers are not, that indicates wear. One of the problems you will run into is that a lot of rebuilders of clutch pressure plates do not hold their specs close enough when they resurface the plate and you won't get enough clamping on clutch when you use the standard flywheel step measurement. In other words they resurface them too many times. I have on occasion deviated from that step measurement to get what I wanted and I have also returned rebuilt pressure plates for a different one. I think some rebuilders furnish a thicker disc in a package deal to match the pressure plate but have not seen that it many years. I used to rebuild all my own pressure plates uing new parts but that is not an option anymore for me.
