Anybody looking for a 409? Got a nice one for sale. If not, sorry!
I had 3 62 Impalas, all SS models, two 327 cars, one 409. the 409 car was a 4 speed, which didnt run.
I sold the 09 car years ago to a collector, so I had a real nice 327 SS that was in running condition.
Found another 409 engine a few years later, bought it and never used it.
It never ran, it was a crate engine left over from a GM factory that had closed in or near FT Wayne, IN, so a fella ended up with it,, and sat there for a long time.
When I found it, it was still in the wood crate, fully assembled, but had terrible surface rust,, so I torn it apart, and cleaned stuff up. I didnt reassemble it, I greased everything to protect it, boxed the rest up and kept it dry.
It came back as a 1965 engine, with a single 4 barrel, at one time had a tri power for it, but sold the 62's and only thing left was the 409. It was complete, carb, distributor, water pump, no accesory brackets. Id consider a serious offer on it.
