The 386 is a resistor type plug, and works well for battery ignition distributors. The 3116 is a NON-resistor type. The non-resistor plug is required for a magneto . Your tractor came from the factory with a magneto, but quite a few of these older tractors were changed over to the battery ignition distributor. You need to find a picture of a "Farmall H4 magneto", and then you will know what you have.
