I have not had to use any heat to put the pulleys back on. You have to remember to lube the crank and the seal.I have always use CARE when using a hammer to tap them on. Afterall, all the end force is going to go against the crankcrank thrust bearing. After they are started, I pull it on by using a flat piece of metal accross the pulley and a bolt in the end of the crank. At least I think there is a threaded hole in the crank. It has been a while.
