The gear in the top of the bolster will be worn. Some gears can be removed and then reinstalled with the worn teeth to the oposite side. There is a bearing on the end of the shaft that may need to be adjusted or replaced. There will be small amounts of wear throughout the steering system , that will become excessive by time it get to moving your tires in any direction. Check out all the joints and bearings. Steve
