Gordo, I third the diesel fuel, but you probably don't need to drain it. Most of them haven't been checked since the 60's and have leaked enough out for a gallon of diesel :D
From what I have heard, the leaks start to develop when changing gear oil bc you fill it back up to capacity. The leaking seals have allowed the oil to drain below the leaking levels, but when you fill it up they start again.
