In that BLUE line you have which runs FROM the Ignition Switch TO the No. 1 terminal on the alternator, you "may" have to add say a 10 ohm resistor to prevent the alternator from backfeeding the coil which could make her continue to run even with the Ignition OFF HOWEVER with that 1.5 or so ohm ballast resistor in series with before and ahead of the coil, she may not backfeed anyway and any other resistors may NOT be required. Id sure try it as drawn and only add more resistance in the blue line if required cuz she keeps running even when shut off, which I doubt. I recommend a current limiting resistor over a diode there which many use.
PS when I upgrade to an alternator I recommend at least 10 gauge from the alternators BAT output up to the ammeter and from the ammetr down to the hot batetry voltage source (taken off starter cable)
