I have a 1958 460 Hi Utility, serial 1500+ which makes it somewhere +/- among the first 1000 built. HI Utility meaning it has the row crop, not the utility transmission and rear end. It has a planetary IPTO without a seasonal disconnect. I find conflicting info in the archives as to whether all planetaries had that disconnect--Someone in the archives said the utilities did not have the disconnect, true or not, I don't know. Just wondering if anything has been changed on the tractor. Does anyone know if the disconnect only disappeared when the clutch type PTO appeared, or was it deleted on the 460 even with the planetary? Are the utilities different in that respect? The parts manual indicates it should have a disconnect, but the cover under the tractor is solid with no opening. Tractor has a metallic clicking sound in that area, just as the engine dies, no such noise when running. Don't know if I should be concerned about that or not.
