Jim, it's no big deal but easiest with two people. Split the tractor, supporting the engine and blocking the front wheels. Then gently push the rear of the tractor away from the front (best have the rear of the tractor supported too). As far as lining up that clutch in the absence of the "proper" tools, use a long bolt that comes close to the size of the pilot bushing in the crank. Before retightening the pressure plate to the flywheel, run the bolt through the clutch disk into the crankshaft, get it close as you can to "lined up". While mating front and rear, engage the PTO and turn it until you can't because of the engagement of the input shaft in the clutch disc. Bolt her together and you're done.
