Glenn: I'd question your reference material, never seen a piece of reference material with more mistakes. Every time I go there, I find another mistake.
Just to give you and example, I was at an auction Sat. Met up with a kid looking for his first tractor. He had a Super C and 140 to choose from. He disappeared for awhile, then back he came with computer printouts by Tractor Data. It stated all 140 were 6 volt. 140 changed to 12 volt at serial number 26801 in 1965-66. They continued as 12 volt until end of production in 1979, somewhere in the low 60,000 serial number. Well over half 140 were 12 volt from the factory. My information comes from IH Blue Ribbon Service manual.
I don't think I ever gone to Tractor Data without finding a mistake. I will admit I don't find anymore as I never go there.
