Well I am sorry that you were not able to get the price hoped for. :( At the best of times a very straight Cub in good mechanical condition, nothing missing/cracked/bent or broke can bring a fair price in the afore mentioned $1,500.00 to $2,000.00 range. However, in today's economy fetching that kind of price is still dicey at best. Folks are hanging on to discretionary funds.. so it really is a buyers market and kinda soft on sellers.
I do hope you get a fair price for it. Pictures would be helpful -- lots of detail. That is what will help sell a particular Cub to a prospective buyer. Any help needed just holler.. we will be around -- both places :D
