LN, I cant say for sure butttttttt I think what you were told is because they dont want the risk of any cheap inferior wires that may allow a HV arc discharge. I dont think its so much whether they are carbon core suppressor plug wires which reduce radio interefernce or plain old wire core as its the quality HV insulation they are concerend with. Often when people switch to an elec switch thay also use a HV high energy coil and run a wider plug gap which means they are operating at higher then stock firing voltages and worn or inferior plug wires may allow arcing. I think in some instances (more race cars prob not so much a tractor issue) where you use their high performance switches and super high energy HV coils and run wide plug gaps they actually want some impedance in the HV secondary and use spiral wound plug wires???
If you use a set they recommend and supply their warranty ought to be better Id think but just dont use any worn ratty aged wires n you will likely be okay
To get the most bang for the buck that elec switch has to offer I recommend a high energy HV coil (as specified by them to match their coil) and a somewhat wider plug gap with quality insulation wires. Just the elec switch with the stock coil, however, still gives improvement due to faster more positive (no points bounce and ringing) coil current switching.
