first off the fan will never turn a md over or really even a gas m for that matter. get a hand crank to check for sure or rock it in 5th on the gas side orr put a pipe wrench on the pto. as for maine that is a great state for the md's smd's etc... i bought a stage 2 super md in norhten maine. he got it for 750 it ran, however very poorly. he spent over 3000 on it and it runs good now but im still not done yet. and have seen others for sale in that area on a regular basis. what i would do first is check and make sure that it is or isnt stuck. if its not check the oil for water pull the plug on the bottom of the pan and see if water comes out. if more then a half of cup comes out then pass. if there is oil in the rad. then pass. not to discurage you but they can be a real nightmare to get parts for and work on. yet they are really fun and neat tractors to work and run. they have a great sound and good power, i love mine and would not sell if for anything. just keep in there just alittle on the pricey side when compared to a gas one.
