Almost all of these have been rebuilt at some point and they have a nut that you take off and this will allow the diaphram to be pulled off the plunger. Every once and a while you will find one that has never been taken apart. Do you have one of these with no nut on the plunger? If you do I would look for another plunger from a parts dealer and replace it.
