Bryan, From your description, not quite sure what exactly is the problem but if it isn't cracked or rusted through there is a good possibility you can take the manifolds off and take them to a machine shop and have them mill the mating surfaces flat again. Then find some good thick gaskets and use new bolts after you chase the old threads in the block. The muffler is usually held to the outlet of the exhaust manifold with some type of clamp. If it’s horizontal it probably has to have a second hanger somewhere also. I would bet there are a few old engines of that type laying around at wrecking yards but you have to research your part numbers and be able to discuss what your needs are in an articulate manner. Today's Featured Article - Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
