To both gentlemen that replied...thank you.My original question had to do with how to get the 2 bolts out that hold the exhaust elbow to the manifold...they were terribly rusty & it looked as though the heat had almost welded the parts & bolts together,but with some penetrating oil & careful persuation they came out.The only parts of the gasket that was left was under the bolts.Will a cork gasket be OK at this point with all the heat or should I use something else? I also discovered that a small corner of the manifold that the bolt that holds the exhaust elbow has broken away leaving only a half a threaded hole.I think I can carefully put a longer bolt with a nut & flat washer to the one side...any better ideas would be appreciated.
