What is the valve adjustment dimension for a D188 engine? Turns out I must have the wrong manual for a 5413 front end loader tractor (early 60s vintage) or the manual is wrong. My manual shows a different adjusting order when you are at TDC (actually, the same as the gas engine)so either they have the adjust order diagrams reversed for the gas and diesel engines in the manual, or this engine is different. I went ahead and adjusted the valves that were closed then rotated one turn and adjusted the rest, which agreed with the gas engine diagram.
My question is, they said .010 for intake and 0.12 for exhaust warm, is that correct? All of mine were in the range of .025 or worse. I adjusted them to .015 for now.
Anybody know the correct dimensions for the D188 engine?
